What your church can do

Churches in the UK have a great opportunity to engage in Olympic outreach, with  the world’s premier sporting event coming to London this summer. 

By reaching out churches can impact the lives of – 

• Their own community – children, youth and adults
• Guests from around the globe – athletes, their families and international visitors

What can a church like yours do?

There is something in the More Than Gold’s tried and tested programme of radical Outreach, Hospitality and Service to meet the needs of every church – whatever their size, location or make up.

This includes –

• Providing volunteers for the Service and Hospitality programmes
• Engaging with your own community including through Guest Events, Sports Outreach and Creative Arts 
• Hosting one of the many Mission Teams coming from overseas - to help you give extra impact to your activities
• Linking hands with other churches to run Community Festivals and Hospitality Centres
• Being welcoming to the whole community by using our inclusivity guidelines that can be downloaded here.

Appoint your church Gold Champion

More Than Gold and the Games organising committee

More Than Gold is working to support the objectives of LOCOG, the organising committee of the Games. However, our programmes have no official relationship with LOCOG or endorsement from them other than our Athlete Family Homestay programme, which has been awarded their Inspire mark.
