The timeline for More Than Gold stretches from now until the Games end on 9 September 2012. This period includes planning, preparation and participation.
What is happening and when during 2012
- February/April: Major equipping days in up to 17 cities and towns under the title Get Set
- Easter: Holiday clubs and sports clinics on a sports theme
- Spring: Recruitment for Games Pastors and Athlete Family Homestay hosts
- May/June: Torch Relay takes the torch to easy reach of almost every community
- June 9 to July 1: European Football championships
- June: The Queen's Diamond Jubilee celebratons
- June: Arrival of international mission teams and launch of hosting programme
- Summer holidays: holiday clubs, sports clinics
- July 27: Olympic Games opening ceremony
- August 12: Olympic Games closing ceremony
- August 29: Paralympics opens
- September 9: Paralympics closes
- September onwards: Follow up programme
