Prayer

Our convicton is that prayer and mission go hand in hand as churches respond to the Games.

That’s why we are inviting every church, group and organisation to explore creative ways to pray for all that will happen before, during and after the Games.

We are using the theme A Time To Shine, drawn from Isaiah 60:1-5. This tells of God's light shining through us for the good of others.

The More Than Gold prayer guide

 Available to download is a comprehensive Prayer Guide full of creative resources. It includes –

How to join in with A Time to Shine

Churches have seasons of opportunity to pray under the banner A Time to Shine.

• Shine as the Flame travels - taking part in a 70 day cascade of prayer as the Olympic Torch Relay comes your way between 19 May and 27 July. For a pdf with more details click here. Plans for the Paralympic Torch Relay will be announced in  May.
• Shine during the Games - Joining with prayer events around the UK during the Olympic and Paralympic Games, especially opening and closing ceremonies
• Shine forever – continue to pray, care and share the Good News and have a time of thanksgiving  in autumn of  2012
