Golf and tennis marathons

Sponsored golf and tennis marathons are ideal for churches to raise funds that are shared between their own outreach and More Than Gold.

In past Games this has proved highly effective as a fun and involving way to generate funds.
Sponsored Golf or Tennis Marathons

Each church identifies a golfer or a tennis player to be sponsored to play either a minimum of 100 holes of golf or 100 games of tennis in one day. 

• The church works to raise sponsorship among church members, relatives and friends.
• The sponsorship is managed on-line so it is easy to claim Gift Aid and to collect in
• All sponsored shirts and balls, green or court fees, meals and prizes are free to the golfer.

All the player has to do – apart from raising sponsors themselves – is spend a day either hitting a little white ball or swinging a racket.

Where the money goes
The sponsorship money raised is shared equally between the church (for their outreach in the context of the Games) and More Than Gold (to be used where most urgently needed).
