More Than Gold mirrors its strategic approach based upon these three broad legacies:
The initial anticipated ideas for MTG to fulfil this legacy component include: Hosting the family members of athletes and coaches; Serving as Volunteers; Providing Chaplains inside and outside the athlete’s village; Serving spectators on the streets with refreshments; Assisting with hospitality and entertainment on the torch relay route; Developing sports ministry programs for people with disabilities
The initial anticipated ideas for MTG to fulfil this legacy component include: Supporting Christians in sport to live out their faith; Supporting churches to deliver sport directly into their communities; deliver sports clinics, camps and holiday clubs during the period of the Games; Developing Christian Sports Resources that can be used for outreach and ministry to Athletes and the Sports Fan.;
The initial anticipated ideas for MTG to fulfil this legacy component in addition to some of the ideas noted above include: Support of existing social actions programs and the possible development of new ones; The staging of Hospitality Centers to reach out to locals and visitors alike; Staging Big Screen Community Festivals all over London for the purpose of engaging the sports fan and building community equity.

More Than Gold is a catalyst to help speed up the reaction time of the Church becoming aware of the opportunities for ministry the Games can provide. Its objectives are as follows:
