For the past nine years David has served as the CEO of the Global Events Group Inc., a non-profit major event consultancy agency based out of the U.S. In this capacity David has traveled extensively consulting with Christian agencies regarding their involvement with 30+ sporting events and their cooperation and support of event organizing committees.
Prior to his involvement with the Global Events Group, David served as the CEO of Quest Australia More Than Gold Inc, (1997-2000), the interdenominational organization coordinating the Christian Community’s involvement with the 2000 Olympic and Paralympic Games. In this role, David worked extensively with the Sydney Organizing Committee for the Olympic Games, coordinating the Christian Community’s involvement with the following programs; Athlete’s Family Host, Volunteers, Chaplaincy, Creative Arts, Water distribution, Literature development and distribution.
Prior to 1997, David served as the Director of The Salvation Army’s Major Events and Sports Ministry department in Atlanta, USA (1992-1996). In this role he coordinated The Salvation Army’s ministries in conjunction with the Atlanta Olympic Games, specifically coordinating the interdenominational ministry for Creative Arts, Sports Ministry and the Water distribution program.
In 1991, he served as a consultant to the Atlanta World Cup Organizing Committee under the employment of the Atlanta Sports Council. In this capacity, he was the liaison between local and national government, business representatives and the 1994 World Cup Organizing Committee.
The son of Salvation Army officers, David was Born in Wokingham and grew up in East London and Lancashire before moving to the USA in 1986 on a football/soccer scholarship to study for his degree in Business and Physical Education. In 1990 he graduated from Bryan College, Tennessee, and went on to receive his Masters degree in Sports Administration from Georgia State University in 1991.
