As the name implies, Operation Teams will provide the operation support to make the Programs a reality. Most of the Operations Teams will be initiated by early fall of 2009 and some will be initiated immediately (Marketing and Development).
The marketing, media and PR Team will develop all general MTG vision casting and promotional materials aimed at informing Churches about MTG and giving direction as to how they can get involved with games related programs. The Team will also be responsible for the development of the MTG website, radio partnerships and Program Idea Book which will be distributed across the U.K. In the last six months leading up to the Games the Team will take on more of a PR focus with the general public and press so as to communicate how the Christian Community is planning to engage with the public during the Games.
In previous games Christian conference centres, camps, seminary colleges, schools and other church owned buildings have been either rented to corporate clients for hundreds of thousands of pounds or utilized for ministry. The Facilities Team will help to coordinate the utilisation of Christian conference centres, camps and Church buildings for the purpose of accommodating corporate clients, Service Teams or other Games guests.
In conjunction with the CEO, the Development Team will be coordinate the raising of the funds needed to cover the Core Administrative Budget. They will also assist Program Teams in raising the funds needed to implement programs and assist in the recruitment of potential sponsors for the programs.
The success of any major event outreach has typically had a direct correlation to how well the Christian umbrella agency has managed the ongoing relationship and communication with the local churches and agencies. With the intent of building an infrastructure and communication network The Church and Network Relations Team (C&NRT) will seek to enrol MTG Church Representatives in as many churches as possible over the next three years. These Church Representatives will serve as the primary information conduit to the local church about MTG ministries. Face to face meetings with key pastors will be critical to the success of this team along with regular scheduled information sharing and training meetings in various parts of London and the U.K.
Thousands of Mission and Service Team members from all around the world are expected to converge on London and the U.K. during the Games. The Service and Mission Team is tasked with coordinating the mission activities of these teams through the local churches as well taking care of their housing, accommodation and transportation whilst on the ground in the U.K. Local churches will be encouraged to utilize these teams for the purpose of service and ministry into their local community. They will also be encouraged to develop their own Mission and Service Teams.
The Prayer Team will mobilize existing prayer networks to pray for the Games and the outreach and service programs being planned. Prayer newsletters, prayer walks around the venues and 24/7 Boiler Rooms during the Games are some of the ideas that have already been suggested for development with a focus on the Games.
The Ministry Training and Follow-Up Team will be tasked to develop a training program that will encourage local Christians to use this once in a lifetime opportunity for outreach. This may be an adaptation of an existing program. They will also focus on providing a culturally affective follow up program (Alpha possibly) for people touched through the MTG programs who want to know more about Jesus Christ.
