In July 2009, MTG will convene a conference at Wembley Stadium to; envision Denominational and Para-Church Representatives leaders/mobilizes; provide a time line for Olympic, Sport, London and Operation Team development; and initiate a number of the Teams. Following the conference, Teams will meet on a regular basis for the purpose of establishing reachable goals and developing program plans, timelines, marketing resources and funds for their programs.

Teams will be activated at various intervals depending on the time needed to become operational for Games service and ministry. For example the recruitment of LOCOG Games Volunteers will take place in late 2010. The MTG Volunteer Team will therefore not be activated until mid 2010. The same can be said of the Athlete Family Homestay Program Team which would not be activated until two years out from the Games due to the fact that LOCOG will not start the recruitment for this program until eighteen months out form the Games.

The current listing of proposed Olympic, Sport, London and Operation Teams is based on both historical precedent and the feedback from the 75 participants who attended the day long planning conference in November of 2008. This list is not meant to be exhaustive as history has shown that when the Lord lays his ideas on people’s hearts, plans need to change and other programs need to be developed or dropped. These teams should therefore be viewed as a place to start.

All of the Teams will be populated by Denominational and Para-Church representatives and many will eventually have sub-groups reporting to the main Team leader. Over the months leading up to the initiation of a Team, a small working group made up of the CEO, Dir. of Opps and other key leaders within the MTG movement, will appoint one or two Team Leader(s) to give leadership to that program area. In some circumstances the CEO and Dir. of Opps may even serve as the joint leader of certain Teams to ensure that Team develops according to plan in the initial phases of development.
