Sport in Schools

Sport in schoolsSport offers churches an effective way to engage with students and teachers and so express the reality and relevance of their faith.

This opportunity is even grater during the period of the 2012 Games when sport and school life will become inseparable.

The possibilities include –

  • School assemblies
  • After school clubs
  • Olympic-themed lessons relating to curriculum requirements that could cover history, geography, religious education and physical education

When is the best time?

The period before, during and soon after the 2012 Olympics and Paralympics provide a perfect time for churches to use sports to engage with schools.

During this time the media and advertising industry will make sport and the Games of high interest to young people.
