Hold a sports Thanksgiving Service
This all-age idea gathers all the sports clubs and enthusiasts in your area – from lawn bowls to judo, gymnastics to football. And more. 

• Think big – perhaps involving all the churches in your area
• Think ‘outdoors’ or ‘sports venue’
• Invite guests to come in their team colours and even with their kit
• Invite the Mayor and the media
• Do it as a stand-alone or part of a special weekend

Use it to – 

• Give thanks for all that sport represents
• Honour those who serve their community as volunteers in sports
• Turn attention to a greater goal than a gold medal.
