Coffee chains available for Olympic-time outreach

Coffee newsCosta Coffee, Starbucks and Café Nero are among leading high street coffee shops available to churches for their Games outreach.

Brokering the arrangement is the charity Sunday Night Live, who will help churches find a willing coffee shop for an arts event and also advise on publicity and branding.

Meanwhile, More Than Gold can make international artists available to perform without charge as part of their commitment to serve during the 2012 Games.

Said Joy da Costa, who heads up More Than Gold’s performing arts programme, ‘This is a wonderful opportunity for outreach-minded churches to engage with their high street.’

Added Joy, ‘With the venue and artist in place, the church would be responsible to provide PA equipment and to work to get people to attend.’

The hope is that such an initiative would become a monthly activity after the Games are over, with Sunday Night Live available to offer practical support based on their extensive experience of providing arts programmes with a faith component.

Churches interested in exploring the opportunity should contact Joy da Costa at joy@sharejesusinternational.com
