Methodists appoint 2012 Games Project Coordinator

After a long search the Methodist Church of Great Britain has appointed a project coordinator for their response to the London Olympics and Paralympics.

Taking up the post this month is Ish Lennox, who has been working as a project manager in the National Health Service.

Ish, originally from Scotland and now living in South London, says, ‘“As Christians we share many of the ambitions of the London Organising Committee and I am excited about the discipleship opportunity that the Games bring.

The Methodist Church is a global sponsor of More Than Gold, founded by all the main denominations to help the churches make the most of the 2012 Games. In this role The Methodist Church contributes to the planning and delivery of the Christian response to the Games and its involvement in the 2012 Olympics will be delivered under the More Than Gold banner.

Ish, who has now joined the Programme Committee of More Than Gold, adds,” I look forward to working with the Methodist Church to ensure people are resourced and ready to engage with the Olympic moment.”
